  1. Mix half of the water with the turmeric in a pot and bring to a boil.
  2. Let simmer for around 10 minutes until you have a thick paste. During those 10 minutes stir frequently and add as much water as appropriate to keep it simmering without burning.
  3. In the end, you add your pepper and your fat. If you chose to follow my recipe you can add the optional ingredients, too.
  4. Stir everything properly and put into airtight containers.
  5. I have my golden paste in the fridge and used this batch for ~ 4 weeks.

This is a big batch of golden paste. You might want to start with half of the recipe in case you aren’t sure you will love it.
