A higher RM or <a href=\"https:\/\/digitalcommons.wku.edu\/ijes\/vol11\/iss2\/2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BMR<\/a> means that you burn calories while doing nothing. In the long run, this will help these patients to continue to lose sustainable weight. Of course<g class=\"gr_ gr_12 gr-alert sel gr_gramm gr_replaced gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear Punctuation only-ins replaceWithoutSep\" id=\"12\" data-gr-id=\"12\">,<\/g> a caloric deficit is the key part of a fat loss diet. More muscle mass will simply make it easier to create this deficit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Find Your Lifestyle Diet<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Just because this is a low calorie diet with an increased intake of protein, it is not necessarily a ketogenic diet. On a VLCD ptorein intake should be higher. As fats are essential to the human body, you easily end up with a modified ketogenic diet.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/taoofstefan.com\/blog\/short-tao\/high-protein-is-the-key-to-weight-loss-short-tao\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Increasing protein intake on a caloric deficit is important tough<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, as a general rule and it always depends on the person at hand, a VLCD isn&#8217;t a diet to go with forever. That&#8217;s because the diet is very restrictive and in the case of the study, certainly below the BMR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The study showed that if you go on such a restrictive caloric diet it is almost imperative to add resistence training to it. This way you&#8217;ll keep your BMR active, keep as much lean body mass as possible and even manage to gain weight. <a href=\"http:\/\/taoofstefan.com\/blog\/sport-fitness\/fitness\/dont-do-cardio-for-weight-loss\/\" target=\"_blank\">Doing cardio in such instances as the main exercise component is the wrong approach<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This makes it potentially difficult to maintain it over a long time. I, <strong>personally<\/strong>, lived ketogenic for almost a year. It works, I felt great most of the time. As a general diet, I personally live a low-carb diet though. That&#8217;s because <strong>my lifestyle demands more carbohydrates<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The moment I go to the gym, I opt for a targeted ketogenic or targeted carb diet. This means I have most of my carbs before and\/or after my workouts. My overall carbohydrate intake is still rather low (150 to 300 g) compared to a standard Western diet (250 g and much more).\u00a0So, <strong>don&#8217;t fear carbs, they have their place in a diet<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Diets are very personal. This should be taken into consideration when you create your lifestyle diet. Whenever you read content like above, question it and try to figure out how this relates to your lifestyle.
