Coaching

Hi! I’m Stefan.

As this is the about me section, I suppose I talk a little about myself and try to compress who I am into a few words and pictures.

That’s the reason you visited the page in the first place. I want to give you an honest chance to see who I am and what I stand for.

To get things started: I am not a genetic freak for whom being in shape, fit, muscular and lean just happens. It’s rather the complete opposite. I have to live in a mindful manner and make an effort to be in shape and healthy.

The last time I was overweight. I was slowly approaching 90 kg at 174 cm height.

From a young age, I had a deep love affair with food. I ate what I could grab and that was a lot. Besides that, I drank a lot of calories. Soft drinks and ice tea were my got to fluids. I did some sport but nothing too intense. I was a great football (soccer) goalkeeper, not a position known for the most demanding fitness.

I had a hard time figuring out how much to eat, what to eat or drink and what not. The same goes for moving around. This made me swing weights from super skinny to really overweight.

These weight issues have been very transformative to me. I had to learn the hard way how to balance nutrition and exercise from an early age. The first time I figured I am heading towards the wrong direction was when I was around 10 years old.

Back then I just ate like grownups. I had no feeling of fullness and no idea when to stop. So I did as my parents did. Unfortunately they never stopped me from eating tons of food, nor drinking a ton of sugar.

It hit me that I am fat when my mum took me shopping for clothing. I ended up with jogging pants and men-size L T-shirts. I knew this wasn’t how it ought to be.

While I am not someone who aims to be average and to fit in, I am rather a rebel, I wanted to change. This fat kid wasn’t who I wanted to be.

I had no grasp of calories and a caloric balance, but 10 years old I stopped drinking coke, cut out the crisps (I had a small bag a day) and started to move more. I inline skated everywhere. Little by little I lost weight and felt better.

It took me years to get in a somewhat good shape and I must have been around 17 when I was lean the first time. That happened thanks to me not bingeing food anymore or rather only on occasions.

After an illness, really skinny and unhealthy

These years I realized that nutrition and movement are important ingredients for a healthy lifestyle. But my journey for the years to come would prove to be a rollercoaster: weight, fitness and health went from great to poor, back to good and down to poor again.

Around 2013 was the last time things got out of hand. That’s when I started to read blogs, books and articles about nutrition and exercise. I wanted to learn what it takes to be healthy and fit, all the while enjoying a social life and being happy.

Around 2010, on my way to get overweight again

That’s how I started my deep dive into a healthy fitness and brought me, and apparently also you, here.

Over the years I tried out a lot, on my body, with my body, but also on family, friends, and then acquaintances. I used all that I learned and started to apply it to my first clients.

As you can see, fitness isn’t the industry I grew up with. I come from a desk job, worked in banking, studied business administration.

This gives me a lot of insight into the challenges most people working a day job in an office face. Helping these people get rid of health issues, extra weight, neck and back pain has been my mission for years now.

That being said, I aim to help anyone who is willing to put in the work to find their baseline of happy and healthy.

To get an even better knowledge of the industry, I started taking classes and courses. I got licensed in several topics (from a German institute):

Getting in shape with a good diet and BJJ
  • Fitness training
  • Nutrition
  • Sports Nutrition
  • Medical Fitness Training
  • Personal Training

I strongly believe that knowledge is a great tool, but being able to apply it is where the true benefit is found.

Witnessing how transformative a sustainable and healthy lifestyle can be, on me and on other people. I realized that I want to help more people finally making it work for them too.

Finding low hanging fruits to get things started, keeping you motivated and leaving the struggles of bad nutrition, fad diets and non-optimal training routines behind, is why I created this website.

My coaching mission

This used to be my comfy jeans last time I was fat

This means you can live a life in a body you enjoy, have the energy to perform the things you love doing and live an overall healthy life.

My mission is to bring energy back into your life. I want you to see that you can do much more than you think you can and assist you in your transformation process.

You can achieve all of that as long as you are willing to. My mission is to show you the necessary steps to get there.

How can I help you

You want to eat healthier, have more energy, gain muscle, loose fat, change body composition, learn more about a sustainable lifestyle? Whatever your goal might be, I encourage you to commit to change and to reach out to me.

With me as your coach, you’ll have a teacher by your side, that teaches you how to take the right actions and why. As the Chinese proverb goes

“You give a poor man a fish and you feed him for a day. You teach him to fish and you give him an occupation that will feed him for a lifetime.”

My goal is to teach you how to fish, to truly understand the core ideas behind a healthy lifestyle and to make it part of the baseline of your daily life.

If you follow me on my journey, you’ll see that I practice what I preach. Leading by example is a much stronger motivator than any random and generic cookie cutter template.
